EWHA Little Campus Dal-dong Ulsan, South Korea

Posted on the "nominate a school for blacklisting section". Any comments?

"For anyone looking for work in Ulsan South Korea. EWHA Little Campus in Dal-dong is one of the worst schools in Korea to work for. During my year there I encounted lies, fraud, illegal goings on, bullying and theft. I was asked to pay for bills that were not mine and no one could show me a receipt for the bills. I had things stolen from my desk in work by a fellow ENGLISH TEACHER!! I also suffered bullying and name calling from this girl (who had previously been in trouble with the police in England) she is underqualified, inexperienced and generally untrustworthy...no idea how she managed to be accepted to work with children. The school did nothing to address these issues. For anyone wanting a happy experience teaching in Korea DO NOT teach in EWHA Little Campus, it will steal your soul, your spirit and your passion for Asia."

finally someone did this! i have worked in korea for 5 years now and this school is definatly the worst place i have worked for! unorganised, unprofessional and unfriendly! there is a korean teacher there who goes by the name of jasmine, who thinks she owns the place, she never works her classes and does as little as possible everday while telling the western teachers to work harder. they expect way to much exta work for no extra pay and the hours are insane! if your lookign for work in korea you can do som much better than here!

I knew a couple of people who worked there. They hated it! Not exactly hell on earth, but you can certainly do MUCH better. Just sounded like an unpleasant atmosphere- hostile Korean teacher (though the rest of the teachers were nice enough), nasty owner, unpleasant work environment, complete and total disorganization, incredible pressure to wow the parents- more than any other school I've ever heard of. There was also a matter of ("unintentional") ripping off the employees by making them pay 100 percent of the pension, rather than the 50 percent that is required by law. There's much more, but I can't remember it all now.

You'd survive your year and it would probably make you stronger, but you are better off almost anywhere else. It sounded like there were good points too, but the bad far outweighed the good. My friends who worked there would never shut up about the place, and they were quite reasonable people- don't do that to your friends! Stay away!

ry the English Villiage Yeong Ju and Chang Nyeong. The Korean Director Richard Jeong and Suzi lure you to believe your teaching 12 students a class, turns out to 33 at 3 different levels. Never trust Korea!!!

Three times in Korea,Three strike outs.I is culturally acceptable to lie, the history has always been corrupt!

I work at Ewha now and I love it. The people that I work with are some of the most wonderful people I have met from around the world; genuine, kind, helpful, and fun! The kids are adorable and sweet, yes, they are kids so they are not perfect but I love them. The manager is helpful and kind, she is always willing to bend over backwards for us. We have always been paid on time no questions asked. This blacklist is out of date and dramatic.

In response to the comment that said this forum is "out of date and dramatic" I worked there also for 12 months and HATED IT!!! The first comment is in no way dramatic or out of proportion....as you teach there now I guess you are clearly delusional or a very poor judge of character...best of luck to you, you sure as hell are gonna need it. Especially if the horrendous English couple are still there...as I said good luck working for EWHA.

To the Ewha teacher, the comments are not outdated and dramatic. Although you may have your rose tinted glasses on just now they will be ripped off your head when you are asked to work excessively for over the top productions to impress the parents and the money in the school is spent on candy floss machines rather than books. I worked there and it is a mickey mouse establishment. The biggest bitch in the world works there and her name is Jasmine. The Korean teachers will NEVER back you up on discipline issues. Have had children swinging from the rafters and was never helped. Just say NO!
